Members of the American Public Works Affiliation have confirmed the collection of the 2022-2023 president-elect and three new board members. Gary Losier, P.Eng., PWLF, will function President-Elect and be part of the APWA Government Committee; Jeffery P. Brown, PE, will function Area III Director; and Robert Garland, PE, PG, DBIA, ENV SP, PWLF, will function Area IV Director. With the affirmation of Gary Losier’s membership as President-Elect, the APWA Board of Administrators appointed Richard J. Benevento to fill the remaining 12 months of the time period as Area I Director. All 4 will assume their duties on the 18-member Board of Administrators on August 28, 2022, on the APWA Annual Public Works Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The APWA voting course of begins with the nomination of a Nationwide Nominating Committee (one member from every area appointed by the APWA President) and Regional Nominating Committees (one member from every chapter the place the time period of board member expires in 2022). President-Elect Gary Losier, P.Eng. is the Director of Engineering and Works for the City of Quispamsis, situated within the Canadian province of New Brunswick, and has held this place since 1987. He has been a member of APWA since 1995. On the native stage, he has been a director, president, vice-president and co-president of the scholarship committee. On the nationwide stage, he was a director of the CPWA Board of Administrators (2006-08) and CPWA Nationwide President (2008-10). He presently chairs the APWA Strategic Planning Committee and is the liaison with the CPWA Board of Administrators. He has chaired and took part in a number of APWA committees through the years.
Richard J. Benevento will be part of the board as director of Area I. He’s president of WorldTech Engineering, LLC, in Woburn, Mass. Benevento has been lively in APWA since becoming a member of the New England Chapter in 1988. He presently serves as a New England Chapter delegate and a member of the Council of Chapters Steering Committee. He served as Part President and was a member of the Part Awards Committee. Jeffery P, Brown, PE, will be part of the Board of Administrators as Director of Area III. He has over 20 years of expertise working straight within the public works subject with state and native governments. He presently serves because the Director of Inside Providers for Cumberland County, North Carolina. Brown has been a chapter delegate for the North Carolina Chapter since 2016 and has represented Area III on the Council of Chapters Steering Committee for the previous three years. He held varied positions on the native stage and on the nationwide stage served for six years on the technical committee of services and grounds, together with two as president. He has been a speaker at PWX, has introduced instructional Click on, Hear & Be taught packages and is the writer of quite a few articles printed within the APWA Journalist. He’s an alumnus of APWA Rising Leaders Academy (ELA II) and for a number of years coordinated and supervised the mentorship facet of the course.
Robert Garland, PE, PG, DBIA, ENV SP, PWLF will be part of the Board as Director of Area IV. He’s vice chairman and regional supervisor of McKim & Creed, a nationwide engineering agency. It has offered engineering, administration, operations and building companies for the general public works trade for over 35 years. Garland joined APWA in 2006 and instantly turned lively on the chapter and department ranges. He served as President of the Southwest Florida Department for 2 consecutive phrases. He held a number of positions as a chapter officer and as an alternate delegate and delegate. He presently sits on the Chapters Council Steering Committee.
